This is one of my all time favorite hat’s I’ve knit! At a monthly meeting for the Madison Knitter’s Guild, KnitCircus was one of the vendors and they had a sample knit of the Alaska hat pattern by Camille Descoteaux (which calls for fingering weight yarn). Although I had no desire to knit a hat with fingering weight yarn, I loved the hat, so I bought one of their worsted weight gradient cakes, and immediately started modifying the pattern to work for worsted weight.
Because I wasn’t going to use up all the yarn on a single hat, but I wanted to get the full spectrum of colors in, one of those modifications was to cut the yarn every so often when I decided I was done with that section of color and ready to transition to the next. It worked out well, but meant that I was left with all these little odds and ends, which I still need to find a purpose for:

Ultimately, I am super pleased with how it came out, and you can find it for sale on my Etsy page.
If you are interested in knitting a worsted weight version of this hat, check out the notes on my Ravelry project page.
