I don’t even know any babies.
I had seen a really cute samples of this sweater (in threes: a baby cardigan by Kelly Herdrich) made with KnitCircus’ worsted weight gradient cakes at a Madison Knitters’ Guild meeting earlier this year (January?). Then several months later, I was at The Cat and Crow on National Local Yarn Store day, signing up for a Dye Class next month, when I came across this cake of Four Crows Farm yarn that they had hand dyed in the shop:

And, well, I had to have it. I didn’t know what I was going to make with it, but it was just so pretty, I couldn’t walk away from it (plus it was $11 cheaper than the KnitCircus equivalent (Ringmaster), which I had splurged on for the Alaska Hat).
When I got home, I started searching Ravelry for projects other knitters had done with gradient yarns. I favorited a whole bunch of patterns for a later date, and finally settled on this one for my new yarn purchase.
It took me about a week to make, I used up every last bit of yarn, and I’m very pleased with the outcome! However, like I said, I don’t actually know any babies. Therefore, it’s listed for sale on my Etsy shop! Go and get it!
