This was a hat that my sister, Hanna, commissioned. She was pretty awesome about it too; she prefaced her request by saying that that she definitely did not need it by Christmas, she paid for the yarn, and she was extremely excited when it was done. Perfect.
While I was back in Rochester for Christmas, we went to Yarn Culture in Fairport where Hanna picked out a very luxurious yarn (Tundra by The Fiber Co., made with alpaca, merino, and silk). Based on her descriptions of what she thought she wanted, I showed her a couple of patterns on Ravelry, and she ended up choosing Violet Hat by Yaroslava Handmade.
It was a pretty quick knit (bulky yarn), and when I was done, I got to attached the cute little “Knit by Megan” tags that my mom got me for Christmas!
