These were a Christmas gift for my dad. They were the first pair of socks where I used different yarn for the heels/toes, and I really liked that approach because then you naturally had yarn tails to easily close up that pesky hole that always seems to appear when you pick up stitches to start the gusset.
This was knit with:
- The Rye pattern by tincanknits (although I skipped the garter stitch in the instep to better show off my self-stripping yarn–no fancy colorwork here!)
- Plymouth Yarn Encore Colorspun Worsted
- Knit Picks Wool of the Andes Superwash
- Size US 5 needles
- Two-at-a-time, cuff down.
