The Bobble Sheep Pillow in Super Soft Merino by Purl Soho was a pattern that I had been admiring for quite some time. Last summer I finally decided to do it, and I was not disappointed!
I knit him as a birthday present for Grammy, and since I finished it a couple months before her birthday, I got to enjoy his presence in my living room for a little while. When Grammy’s birthday came around, I was sad to see him go (even Dan commented on his disappearance), but Grammy was very happy to have him! She even named him Oscar.
I miss his presence still, but the bobbles were an awful lot of work, so although I wish I had my own bobble sheep pillow, I won’t be knitting another one any time soon.
Because I made the sheep a little smaller than the pattern called for, I made quite a bit of modifications in order to keep the bobbles placed where they should be. If you’re interested in those modifications, check out my Ravelry project page for the details.
This was knit with:
- The Bobble Sheep Pillow in Super Soft Merino pattern by Purl Soho
- Hometown USA Solids by Lion Brand (yes, I used acrylic yarn to knit a sheep….sue me).
- Size US 11 needles.
